Roslyn achieved her Juris Doctor from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology, from Dalhousie University in an effort to facilitate change and improve the lives of her communities.
Roslyn holds both a Certified Records Manager and Certified Document Imaging Architect designation which she has used in Indigenous treaty preparation and cultural archiving.
Roslyn has overcome many challenges in her life which led her to becoming an avid entrepreneur who operated successful businesses including an Information Management Consulting firm, a restaurant, and managing residential properties.
Roslyn has won several awards in various aspects of her life and career. Legal awards include the Schulich Scholarship for Community Service, the Dalhousie University Student Activist Award and the Faculty of Law Leadership Award.
Roslyn’s community involvement includes her participation with Access Pro Bono, support of a Child Protection Parents Group, and participation in many access to justice initiatives including Legal Aid BC and the Lawyer Referral Service. One of Roslyn’s major achievements was the establishment of the annual Weldon High School Debate that empowered and inspired Black and Indigenous youth.
Roslyn’s advocacy work includes the rights of disadvantaged individuals, tenants, students, seniors, employees, artists, small businesses, new immigrants and many other individuals dealing with administrative and poverty law issues.
Outside of work, Roslyn enjoys vegetarian cooking, watersports, and time with her dog.
Roslyn is a member of the following associations: Canadian Association of Black Lawyers, Indigenous Bar Association, Canadian Bar Association, Law Union of British Columbia, Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia, New Westminster Bar Association, Vancouver Bar Association, Alternate Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada, The Advocates Society, Canadian Association for People who Stutter and Mediate BC.
Roslyn's Community Involvement includes volunteering with many organizations including most recently TLABC's Equity and Diversity Committee.
